Pinter & Martin is delighted to announce the acquisition of the world English rights to Bare Reality: 100 Women and their Breasts. Photographer Laura Dodsworth has created stunning portraits of 100 women alongside intimate, honest, courageous and moving stories about their breasts and their lives.

The publication of Bare Reality is partially funded by a spectacularly successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, which raised its target within 24 hours. The accompanying video has been viewed 1.25 million times and the campaign resulted in 70 articles about Bare Reality internationally, including the Guardian Weekend magazine feature, New Statesman, Cosmopolitan and two Huffington Post articles, with many more to come to coincide with the book’s publication. Publication and launch in May 2015 will be accompanied by an exhibition of the original photographs.

£1.00 from every book sold will be donated to Breast Cancer UK, a charity that aims to prevent breast cancer before it starts by reducing public exposure to the harmful chemicals in our environment, food and every day products.

Bare Reality (ISBN 978-1-78066-260-2) will be published in May 2015 as a hardback priced £25.

Bare Reality's official website is here.

“The shocking thing about Laura Dodsworth's pictures of 100 women's breasts isn't the flesh on show, or the many shapes and sizes, but the realisation that images of unairbrushed, non-uniform breasts seem to be so rare.” – Guardian Weekend magazine, September 2014

“Compelling words, compelling pictures, compelling women ... the ordinary beauty of life.”  – Susie Orbach, psychoanalyst and writer, author of Fat is a Feminist Issue and Bodies

“This touching, inspirational book cuts through the sexual objectification of breasts and encapsulates how unique, yet similar, we all are.” –  Breast Cancer UK
