Pinter & Martin is delighted to announce the acquisition of YogaWords, the renowned specialist yoga book publisher.

Established in 2008 as a joint venture between Yogamatters, the UK’s largest online yoga shop, and Pinter & Martin, YogaWords will become a wholly owned imprint of Pinter & Martin on January 1st, 2015.

YogaWords has built a reputation as a thriving publisher of expertly edited, beautifully designed yoga titles that accompany practitioners and teachers through a lifelong practice of yoga. Bestselling titles include the groundbreaking Yoni Shakti by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, which Shiva Rea called “a revolutionary resource for women”, and Yoga Sadhana for Mothers, by Anna Wise and Sharmila Desai, which sold out its first print in less than eight weeks. YogaWords’ other authors include John Scott, Christian Pisano, Dona Holleman and Jennifer Ellinghaus.

Zoë Blanc, former publishing coordinator at YogaWords, is joining Pinter & Martin as publishing manager as well as commissioning editor of the YogaWords list.

Pinter & Martin’s MD Martin Wagner said: “The acquisition of YogaWords will strengthen both companies further in a competitive market. Our existing yoga authors Vanda Scaravelli and Sandra Sabatini will join the new YogaWords imprint and we look forward to continuing our fruitful relationship with Yogamatters over the coming years.”

Yogamatters is delighted to support YogaWords as it begins a new chapter as part of Pinter & Martin. “It’s a positive move for YogaWords, one that will enable the business to flourish under the watchful eye of a specialist independent publisher. We will, of course, continue to stock their books as we know that our customers look forward to each and every launch,” said Twanna Doherty, MD at Yogamatters.

Pinter & Martin, established in 1997, is the UK’s leading independent publisher of evidence-based pregnancy, childbirth & parenting books.
