Heartwarming book about nursing babies and children within family life. Baby loves it. Have bought for some of my mamma friends too. Wish it came as a board book though as my baby is slowly destroying the paper pages 😭

A must have book for all breastfeeding mums
Friday, 19 February 2016  |

When I bought the book I was so excited and couldn't wait to read it. It arrived quicker than what I thought and I started reading it straight away . It's a lovely book and I'm glad I paid extra to get the hardback version of it. I love the words and illustrations both. I enjoyed reading each page and looking at the lovely pictures which are very natural and reminded me of myself and my breastfeeding journeys with my 3 children . I then asked my nearly 8 year old daughter who was breastfed for 4 and a half years to read it. I should say, she is a great fan of breastfeeding. She loved the book and even told me which page was her favourite. After that, I read the book to my 2 and a half year old daughter who is still having breast milk. It made her giggle , looking at the pictures and having breast milk in different positions by copying the children in the pictures .
I strongly recommend you to buy this book for yourself if you like breastfeeding or to by it for a mum who enjoys breastfeeding her child .

A book to treasure

A beautiful story book that captures the true nature of breastfeeding - precious and special but also completely natural and totally normal. My daughter loves the detailed illustrations and enjoys finding Eric the bear on every page. I enjoy reading a book that captures so perfectly our every day life.

Finally! A book for toddlers featuring breastfeeding
Wednesday, 29 July 2015  |

Milky Moments is a lovely, melodic book which shows nursing children in everyday situations. My two year old likes to read the words with me and search for Eric the Bear on every page.

This is a great read for an older child with a younger sibling who nurses, an older child who nurses, and for siblings who are both nursing.

I love how it normalizes breastfeeding! - I bought copies for me and 4 of my momma friends

Wonderful story, touched my heart and my eyes. The story is beautiful and written so well that it is a pleasure to read aloud while the illustrations just make you want to smile. I would love to see a board book as i feel children particularly younger ones would love to get their hands on it and my signed copy is too precious by half!

Itís hard to think of a more enjoyable and important book for my children. Itís fun, beautifully written and takes the reader on a 24 hour journey that any parent will empathise with immediately. The rhyming makes it easy to remember, and keeps the imagination and attention of the little one. Perhaps most importantly, Milky Moments normalizes the magical moments of breastfeeding, which are too often taboo in our society. As a dad, I couldnít think of a more natural and nourishing act, and I am delighted that more mums and dads will feel empowered to talk about their own milky moments as a result of this book. And our children will grow up strong on the inside as well as out. Milky Moments should have its own spot on every small personís bookcase.

Felt like an autobiography
Wednesday, 3 June 2015  |

Our nearly 3 year old loves the book - it reflects the everyday normality of his life. Beautiful illustrations and gently rhyming text with the additional pleasure of being introduced to the families at the end. (Since he always asks "who that" after meeting people in shops it was nice to ask him to find the characters in the book). Highly recommend.

So much crammed into one book!
Tuesday, 2 June 2015  |

We love it! The book follows several families as babies or toddlers are breastfed, on outings to the beach or the shops, as the family waits for a new baby to arrive or celebrates an ill newborn getting stronger and leaving the hospital, at a birthday party or just eating a family meal at home. There are older siblings who appear to have weaned and families with just the mother shown. The ethnic backgrounds of the characters are also diverse. So much crammed into one book! The rhymes don't feel forced as I find children's books often are, and the illustrations are beautiful. The characters are all named at the end, and we were delighted to find that two had the same names as my nurslings. There's no 'goal' to this book, like trying to help children night wean or prepare for a younger sibling: it just celebrates many different aspects of normal, everyday life for a breastfeeding family.
With so much thought over the illustrations, you won't get bored reading this again and again (and again!) - there's always something else to spot. My 15 month old can point to Eric the bear on every page now, and my (nearly!) 3 year old loves finding new details, like the cupcake from the birthday party that was given to the Mum in the hospital with her baby. The only downside to this book is that my kids (who want it read every time they breastfeed... and who breastfeed a lot still!) often feel the need to unlatch and tell me things about what they're seeing... and we can all imagine how that ends!
